Auditory Calming (Music) Tool:
NimbleTools provides students with an auditory calming tool. This tool allows students to play pre-selected music or sounds quietly in the background as they work on test items. For some students with attention needs, auditory calming enables students to focus better on the task at hand and results in more valid measures of cognitive processes. The Auditory Calming Tool:
- Allows music loops or sounds to be played in the background, enabling students to focus on the test.
- Students can pick from a list of pre-selected sound tracks.
- Students may alter the volume of auditory calming, or turn it on or off at any time during testing.
- The tool works in coordination with the Read Aloud Tool, so while text is being read, the music is played at a lower volume or stops playing entirely during reading and reactivates when reading is complete.
